Power of Personalization: Captain Lived Life 'His Way'

For an Alabama Coast Shrimp Boat Capt’n…who lived and loved fully, unabashedly, his own way. These shrimp boat urns were handmade in his honor, for each of his three sisters.

Made for a local friend, Kathy, and her family...she would tell stories of her brother Doug's adventures and trials, big wins and pitfalls. Doug was known for his kind heart and unconventional style. The last boat he owned was fittingly named, "My Way".

May he rest in peace.

The Power of Personalization: A Pine Cone for Will

Will was described as loving life and everything about it.  His wife, Paula, wanted something related to nature to remember him...maybe a Pine Tree or nature scene? We suggested that a Pine Cone urn would be cool and she agreed.

They were married in Lake Tahoe and she saved a pine cone from their time spent there together.  Following his passing, Paula returned to Lake Tahoe for some needed time and reflection.  She took along Will's cremains and scattered a portion of the ashes there in remembrance of him and their union.

Pine trees hold a special place in our hearts too. We loved creating this piece to honor Will. We hope that it offers Paula, and their family, some comfort and beauty in their time of mourning and in the years ahead.

Practicing Prototypes: Flying Heart

This Flying Heart YURN is a prototype model that we will be releasing soon. In order to practice our techniques, we created this one for a Facebook friend. She is experiencing the great loss of losing her fiancee just prior to their marriage. Our thoughts are with her in the coming days ahead.

Heart with Wings Wall-Mounted Urn
Facebook Post

I am overwhelmed with comfort and love. There are some who look down on virtual-only friendships. Tonight, though, I've proof to show how wrong they are. Friends I have never met IRL have given me an incredible gift. Jamaica and Rob of MorzArt sent an unexpected package. This gorgeous piece is a deep urn (or as they call it, a Yurn). It will hang on a wall as an urn, a memory box, or simply a beautiful reminder of Keith Johnson's life. I hope that none of you need funerary art for a very long time. But when you do, please look up these fantastic, compassionate artists.

The Power of Personalization: A YURN Surprise

We started listening to an entrepreneur podcast a few months ago and joined a related Facebook group. Nathan, the host, had shared a story on his podcast about his tough childhood experiences and the close bond he had with his little brother. Tragically, is brother died in 2012, at the age of 29, from alcoholism.

We understand the struggles having loved ones afflicted by alcoholism, and were touched by his story of profound loss. His positive take-away was very moving as he spoke about how he has grown from all of his challenges.

We were inspired to make him a memorial for his brother, and it was delivered to him in Colorado as a surprise....

How amazing that he shared this video and allowed us to experience the un-boxing with him. It was very touching and brought tears to our eyes too...

We designed a graphic for the inside of the YURN, it had this quote that Nathan described as his life's motto.
